Scott Goode

  • Name and Title: Scott Goode, Assistant Director
  • What I Do: I oversee the Temple Chai communications and technology to make sure that our congregants are well informed and have an exceptional experience with our programming. I also work with our outstanding operations staff to ensure our clergy and leaders have the resources needed to create the wonderful community we have at Temple Chai.
  • Why I Do It: Belonging to a congregation was an important of my life growing up and I love helping families and youth connect with Judaism and a vibrant community.
  • How I Got Here: After beginning my career in youth group work and education, I decided to merge my passions together and work with Laura Perpinyal, our wonderful Director of Congregational Learning as Temple Chai’s Assistant Director of Education and Youth. From there, I began taking on more communications and operational responsibilities, eventually expanding my role to include helping all aspects of the synagogue.
  • Favorite Holiday: La’ag Ba’Omer because who doesn’t like a bon fire and BBQ celebration!?
  • Hidden Talent: I (not so secretly) play guitar.
  • Education: Masters in Art of Teaching from National Louis for Environmental Science 6th – 12th Grade; B.A. in Geology, University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
