At Temple Chai, we celebrate Shabbat every Friday night in our sanctuary. Our Kabbalat Shabbat (lit. “Welcoming Shabbat”) services are held at 6:30, with an Oneg preceding the service at 5:45. On the first Friday of every month from November through June, we offer a later Kabbalat Shabbat service with Torah reading, starting at 7:30 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m.
We also observe Shabbat on Saturday mornings with our weekly worship at 10:30 in the morning. The services are led by experienced and capable lay leaders, and include readings from both the Torah and Haftarah, as well as the Mi Shebeirach prayer for healing and Kaddish for those who are mourning a loved one. A short Kiddush follows the conclusion of the service.
